How to Join

Singers interested in joining us are warmly invited to one or more choir rehearsals for an Opus 44 taster; just ring Anthea or Janet (see Contact details).  The Musical Director listens to new singers on an informal basis to see which voice part is best for them. We rehearse every Tuesday evening (during School term time) from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, at Bingley United Reformed Church.
Some of the music we sing can seem quite challenging at first; don’t worry, if you can sing in tune and hold your own part once you know it securely it is not necessary to be able to sight sing; though you may need to put in some extra work outside of choir rehearsals to gain that security. Moreover, although it is always helpful to be able to read music, it can be more useful to have a good ear, backed up by an understanding of the written music.
For anyone who would like to improve sight reading ability, there are members of the choir who are always willing to offer support. If you would like to come along and sing with us, or want to ring for an informal chat, please get in touch with Anthea or Janet.
